DotWell, as lead agency for the Dorchester Family School Initiative (DFSI), will run an after school services for students with autism spectrum disorder. There are no after school programs in Dorchester serving children with autism. As a result, many DFSI families with ASD children struggle to find appropriate after school programs and services. An onsite program will better serve families, help to create a more consistent and structured day for students, and provide academic and enrichment activities in a safe and familiar environment. The partner-based model will pool resources to create a network of support between schools, families and community organizations.
