Colorado State University Psychological Services Center Autism Outreach: Expanding Social Skills Group Therapy Training To Key Service Providers In Northern Colorado

The program will provide training to key individuals in high-need Northern Colorado communities who will be taught to deliver naturalistic socials skills instruction to children, adolescents, and adults with ASD. These individuals will become key service providers. This request will fund two full-time, advanced doctoral students in Counseling Psychology and in the Psychological Services Center. These students will: Assess community needs for Social Skills groups; Target interventions for the neediest communities; Make contacts with key individuals in that community; Present the training curriculum at monthly workshops in target communities; Collect quantitative feedback on the material presented; social skills groups offered by new facilitators; numbers served.
