Children On The Frontier: Equipping Alaska Families To Unlock The Education Puzzle
Disability Law Center Of Alaska
The Disability Law Center (DLC) will run a statewide program to train parents and guardians how to best advocate for an IEP appropriate for their individual child. DLC will connect with parents throughout Alaska to teach them how to obtain the right expert evaluations, how to draft measurable goals and objectives, and how to ensure that their child receives the specialist services they need—even in remote Alaskan frontier communities. Special attention will be given to assuring that the materials reflect the strengths of rural families and communities, as well as the rich and unique Native Alaskan cultures.
