Bridges to "People Safety" for Individuals Affected by Autism Spectrum Disorders

The purpose of the grant is to help people affected by autism spectrum disorders who experience being the target of exclusion, shunning, bullying, harassment, and other forms of overt and insidious emotional or physical violence and abuse at a rate of up to 12 times higher than their peers without autism; improve their social-emotional skill sets necessary to interact effectively and safely with the world around them; increase their confidence and well-being; and reduce the violence and abuse they experience.  The program addresses the building of safe, positive, healthy social interaction and personal safety. The promotion and broad dissemination of these skills and tools in hard copy and digital form to prepare people all over the world to use and teach these skills on their own on an ongoing basis.
