Advancement Through Service: Training Low-Income High School Students To Become ABA Therapists While Working With Toddlers In Their Communities
B.A.S.I.C.S. ABA Therapy, LLC
This program will train high school students in low-income neighborhoods as well as college students in ABA therapy, who will then provide therapy to toddlers in low-income neighborhoods. This will help create skilled workers in low-income neighborhoods and provide free services to low-income toddlers with autism. Interns will meet with a BCBA every other week for a two hour seminar on the principles of ABA. Each internship will last one year but it will be staggered so that when one set of interns is doing direct therapy, a new set will be beginning the training process.
