Among the first priorities of the AIR-P's research will be to examine two key concerns common to families of a child with autism: 1) the relationship, if any, between diet and nutrition and behavior and 2) how to manage sleep behavior among children with autism.
We hope that by implementing studies in these areas we will be able to start to build network capacity carry out innovative research on other health issues of concern to families with a child on the autism spectrum.
The things we learn will be used to develop tools to help practitioners and will be made available to the wider community of families and primary care physicians.
