The 9th annual Houston Walk Now for Autism Speaks was held this past Saturday, October 13th at Reliant Park in Houston, TX! Houston raised over $400,000 – and counting! Fundraising efforts will continue through December 31st.
Under the leadership of Walk Director Shauna Caster and Volunteer Chair Carey Burden, Houston drew approximately 10,000 walkers on a warm, sunny Saturday
On October 13th, 2012, over 1000 walkers joined Autism Speaks at Railroad Park in Birmingham for the inaugural Alabama Walk Now for Autism Speaks. Walkers enjoyed picture perfect weather and beautiful blues skies for the 1 ½ mile Walk and 5K Run. Saturday, October 13th was the 10th Annual Southwest Florida Walk Now for Autism Speaks held for the 7th year at Estero Community Park in the City of Estero, FL. Through your fundraising and outreach efforts we have raised over $70,000 and counting – that’s over 1 million dollars raised in Southwest Florida over the past 10 years!
Saturday’s 9th annual Walk Now for Autism Speaks in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex was the best yet! Weather was perfect! Faces were beaming! Families were celebrating!
The Music Learning Band, featuring young musicians from more than thirty DFW area schools performed from the stage, the drumline started off the Walk and a jazz band entertained along the Walk route.
The 5th Annual Central Valley Walk Now for Autism Speaks took place at Modesto Junior College - West Campus in Modesto, California on October 20th. The Walk had close to 3,000 people in attendance! To date the Walk has raised over $80,000 with donations continuing to come in!
The Annual Nebraska Walk Now for Autism Speaks took place at Haymarket Park stadium on Saturday, Oct. 20th, with over 800 people in attendance, and featured what the weather forecast called ‘abundant sunshine’. To date we have raised $48,000, with donations continuing to come in as we reach for our $58,000 goal through the end of the year.

The fifth anniversary Greater Hudson Valley Walk Now for Autism Speaks was held on a beautiful Fall Saturday at the Rockland County Community College on October 13th in Suffern, NY. Our friends, family, therapists, sponsors and supporters, 1,000 strong, walked the beautiful campus of RCC and surpassed our goal of $118,500 raising over $125,00 and counting. CONGRATULATIONS!

Saturday, October 13th the St. Louis Autism Community celebrated the 10th Anniversary St. Louis Walk Now for Autism Speaks and 5K Run Before the Walk held in Forest Park. For the 10th year in a row the weather cooperated and it was a perfect day for a walk in the park. More than 20,000 walk participants and 300 runners came out to celebrate the day,

The TIG Air Force hosted a satellite event in Afghanistan, mirroring the Walk Now for Autism Speaks taking place in Dallas/Fort Worth on October 20. Autism Speaks is a non-profit organization that helps families with autistic children find services and education. Autism Speaks is especially interested in helping military families affected by autism and are currently lobbying in Washington on behalf of military families for services under Tricare.
