The Puget Sound Walk Now for Autism Speaks took place on Saturday, September 8th in the Memorial Stadium located in the Seattle Center. Greeted by sun and temperatures in the 80s, over 1200 people came out to support Autism Speaks, check out the amazing Resource Fair, and play in the Auto Warehousing Co’s Kids Activity Area featuring bouncy obstacle courses and a demonstration from Swring!
The day featured not only great weather and Geoffrey from Toys "R" Us, but teams from across the Puget Sound such as our top overall team, Deming Speedway, coming from Deming, Washington in six car loads to take part, and Team Microsoft with their amazing team in their specially designed Team Microsoft shirts! The amount of creative and amazing team t-shirts were everywhere to be seen and were so inspiring!
Under the leadership of Walk Chair Lori Heagler (also our current top overall individual fundraiser!), the Puget Sound Walk has raised over $212,000 of its $235,000 goal and we have now surpassed our 2011 fundraising total! Thanks also to our tremendous Grand Club – with over 40 individuals being part of this amazing group of individuals!
We also want to thank our amazing sponsors – Auto Warehousing Co., Safeway, Deming Speedway, The Children’s Museum, Seattle, Swring, and Zenith Optimedia!
