The 11th annual Southern New Jersey Walk Now for Autism Speaks was held on Saturday, May 19th in Mount Laurel at the ARI building. This new location was special for our community as Holman Automotive/ARI serves as a corporate sponsor and top fundraising team of our Walk each year!
More than 40 local autism service providers exhibited in the Resource Fair, and our stage show was joined by a special guest, musician and children’s entertainer, Brady Rymer. CBS 3/CW Philly 57’s anchor, Natasha Brown, emceed the stage show, and 11-year walker and co-founder of our SNJ Walk, Jordan Schmidt, motivated each and every attendee with his remarks, reminding everyone of why we Walk Now for Autism Speaks!
Participants walked a one-mile loop, had great fun in the children’s entertainment area which featured inflatables, face painting, carnival games and craft tables, and especially enjoyed the cool mist that the fire department provided on this beautiful, sunny day.
Many new teams joined our veterans this year, helping us to extend the scope of our mission. We look forward to reaching out to all of our teams in the coming weeks to learn about their successes and to partner together on fundraising and awareness initiatives throughout the end of the year that will help us reach our goal of $425,000.
A very special thanks to our sponsors: Foundations Behavioral Health, Holman Automotive, FOX Kids, CSA Group, Jersey Shore Pharmacy, YCS Sawtelle, SoJo 104.9 and, of course, CBS3/CW Philly 57.
