The second annual Greater Waterbury Walk Now for Autism Speaks took place on Saturday, June 4th at Library Park in Waterbury, CT.
The weather could not have been better, and with over 600 people in attendance, you could feel the energy. Alan and Helen Taylor, Walk Chairs, were teary eyed when the grand total of $50,000 was announced, as this was double the goal and amount raised last year; a huge feat for a small but mighty community. The community was thrilled with the inaugural resource fair and the Autism Speaks merchandise sales.
The Walk concluded with singing and dance performances and the entire crowd doing zumba – just amazing. For more information please contact the Autism Speaks Connecticut Director, Lauren Joyce, at 203-200-8450 or lauren.joyce@autismspeaks.org.
