2010 Northern New England Walk Now for Autism Speaks

Thursday, October 7, 2010 View Comments

Thank you to the 1,500 participants who came out on Sunday, October 3, to celebrate the 8th annual Northern New England Walk Now for Autism Speaks!  The Walk, held at Fisher Cat Stadium, Manchester NH, has raised over $107,000 with donations still coming in!! This was our first year at Fisher Cat Stadium (also known as MerchantsAuto.com Stadium) and we couldn't have asked for a better host.

The Ashmont Station,  a national award-winning Boston-area country cover band with a unique blend of musical styles, performed. Think of them as country, mixed with rockabilly, blues, bluegrass, pop, and rock! They perform both traditional and new country, with an emphasis on contemporary country hits for us. We also had a surprise speaker the mayor Ted Gatsas who talk about the importance of our mission to finding answers about autism.

All of the walkers enjoyed snacks from Bachman Pretzels and Walgreens and coffee from The 99 Restaurant. There were plenty of resource vendors to check out as well.

THANK YOU to all our team captains, walkers, donors, resource vendors, sponsors and our wonderful Walk committee that made the day a great success! For more information about the Walk, visit our Northern New England Walk Facebook page.
