Calls to Action

Autism: You're Amazing. You're Fantastic. You Know That It's True.

This post is from Liz Grace and is part of an initiative on our site called “In Our Own Words: Living on the Spectrum,” which highlights the experiences of individuals with autism from their perspectives. Have a story you want to share for the series? Email us at InOurOwnWords@Autismspeaks.org

My name is Liz Grace. I have autism and live in a small town. I was bullied in the past and I wanted to share my poem with you to help others in our community. My poem is called "You".

Bullies are everywhere

No matter where you go you'll find them there

They call you names and make you cry

You come home from school wondering why

But, there is something you should remember

Never forget it. Never, ever

That you're amazing in every way

That you're special. You're better than what they say

You know that it's true

You're amazing. You're fantastic. You are so absolutely, positively

YOU!
