DOVER, DE (May 18, 2007) -- Dover International Speedway announced today that the June 3, 2007 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series race will be named the “Autism Speaks 400 presented by Visa.” Autism Speaks is an organization dedicated to increasing understanding and knowledge of autism spectrum disorders; to funding research into the causes, prevention, treatments and cure for autism; and to advocating for the needs of affected families.

IACC Sponsors Autism Research Town Hall Meeting

Parents and caregivers of children, teens and adults with autism spectrum disorders are among those invited to participate in a daylong town hall meeting on May 3, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at UC Davis Cancer Center, 4501 "X" St., Sacramento, to discuss priorities for current and future autism research. The town hall meeting is sponsored by the Interagency Autism Coordinating Committee, the federal advisory committee that coordinates autism spectrum disorders activities nationwide as mandated by the Combating Autism Act of 2006.

Announcement of the Upcoming Interagency Autism Coordinating Committee Meeting

A meeting of the Interagency Autism Coordinating Committee [under the Combating Autism Act of 2006 (P.L. 109-416)] will take place on Monday, May 12, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center, Rotunda Room, 1300 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Washington, D.C. 20004. The meeting will be open to the public, with attendance limited to space available.
