More than 50 participants attended a conference in Modesto, Calif. on March 29th. Topics included Autism Speaks Family Services Grants, Ann Cirmele on Advocacy Strategies, Faun Hyde on Fluency, Danelle Ford on Social Skills and more! This fun community event was informative and provided a new way for Autism Speaks to connect with our families. We plan on replicating this event in other parts of the United States throughout 2014.

This year's event will take place on Sunday April 6, 2014 at Kendrick Park (across from Bertucci's) in Amherst Center. Registration opens at 10:30am, opening ceremonies kick-off at 11:30am, and the race begins with a shot gun start at noon!

The Debary, Fla., City Council has agreed to a resolution that will allow 3-year-old J.J. Hart to keep his pet chickens. The Hart family threatened legal action against the city in federal court for violating the Federal Fair Housing Act, Americans with Disabilities Act and the Rehabilitation Act.
