The ACA and Arkansas

When I buy my individual or small group policy, including through Arkansas' health insurance marketplace, will applied behavior analysis (ABA) be covered?

Yes. Insurers that offer new coverage to individuals and small businesses are expected to cover ABA. Arkansas imposes a $50,000 cap on the amount of ABA that must be provided each year. Because the ACA prohibits annual dollar limits on essential health benefits, insurers may be able to convert these limits into non-dollar limits (such as a cap on the number of sessions of applied behavior analysis each year).

Where can I learn more about Arkansas' health insurance marketplace?

Did Arkansas choose to expand its Medicaid program?

Yes. Arkansas expanded its Medicaid program to cover households with incomes up to 133 percent of the federal poverty level. For 2015, that works out to about $16,105 a year for individuals or $32,913 for a family of four. Learn more here about your options.
